"Top line: Broker Scott Mayer did a great job selling our catamaran
We initially chose a different broker. After five months with minimal traction, we started to investigate new approaches. As I knew Scott even before he even became a broker, I called for advice. To his credit, he made suggestions, including changing brokers, without pushing for the listing himself.
Scott shared a vision for marketing and positioning our boat more effectively, answered every question we had along the way, and worked closely with us to bring that vision to life in the timeline we had requested. He helped us secure a dock in a better location, covering some initial costs to make the transition easier as well.
He had excellent market insight, with a good handle on what competitive boats were on the market, how much they were selling for, and what boats were coming. He did a comprehensive market analysis and pricing strategy. Within 10 days of listing, LUCKY was under contract. And, thanks to Scott’s proactive networking efforts, we also secured a strong backup offer. When the first deal fell through, we were able to pivot quickly and move forward with the backup, which turned out to be an even better offer from an amazing couple that we feel would take good care of LUCKY moving forward, which made us happy.
Being a thousand miles away, we appreciated Scott’s efforts to arrange things like detailing and bottom cleaning, so we did not have to travel. He also arranged excellent photography and videography, and did all the editing to make LUCKY stand out in a crowded market of Leopard 45 listings, at no cost to us,
When it came time for sea trials, Scott provided captain options and managed logistics, so we didn’t need to return to Florida. His attention to detail, dedication, and regular communication made the entire experience seamless and successful and gave us confidence at every stage of the process.
